Abstract

Abstract: Language is a form of social creativity in human life. This article aims to analyze the form and function of language games in the Lapor Pak! Eps. Akademi Lapor Pak program. Data collection was carried out using observation and note-taking techniques. Data analysis used the mark reading method and the matching method. The forms of language games in this study were classified based on deviations from Grice's cooperative principle (1975) and the principle of politeness (Leech, 1993). The results of this study found at least 39 instances of language games in the Lapor Pak! Eps. Akademi Lapor Pak, with at least 25 instances of deviation from the cooperative principle and at least 14 instances of deviation from the politeness principle. The presence of language games in the Lapor Pak! program serves not only as entertainment but also as a means to convey criticism or satire toward friends and the government.
