Improving Discipline Attitude Towards Extracurricular Scouts for Grade 5 Students of MI Miftahul Ulum Banjarsari

Abstract


This study aims to analyze the influence of extracurricular activities of Scouts on the discipline attitude of students in grade V of MI Miftahul Ulum. This research method is quantitative descriptive with the population of all students in grade V (n=21) selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire of 8 Likert scale statements (5 points). The data were analyzed using SPSS (version 25) with descriptive statistics (mean and percentage). The results showed that the average student discipline score (x̄= 3.46) was in the high category. In particular, the average punctuality score reached 3.76 (high), neatness of dress 3.81 (high), and hygiene concern 3.88 (high), while the driving safety aspect (use of helmets) was low (x̄= 2.80). Around 75-85% of respondents stated that they agreed or strongly agreed on the main positive aspects of discipline. It is recommended to strengthen the Scout program outside the classroom and the application of interactive learning methods (simulations, discussions) to improve aspects that are still lacking.
