ANALISIS KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN CAPAIAN HASIL BELAJAR KOGNITIF MAHASISWA PADA PERKULIAHAN ZAT ADITIF DAN ADIKTIF BERBASIS CASE METHOD
Abstract
Abstract: The study aims to analyse critical thinking skills (CTS), cognitive learning
outcomes (CLO), correlation, and the contribution of CTS to students' CLO through case
method learning strategy. The research subjects were 102 students of Science Education
Department, Universitas Negeri Malang. The instrument used wes an essay test to measure
CTS and CLO. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and quantitatively through simple
regression. The results showed that the implementation of the case method is able to train
students' CTS in the critical category (on the topic of additives) and very critical (on the topic
of addictive substances) as well as CLO in the good category. CTS have a positive correlation
with CLO with a contribution of 66.82%. Based on the results of this research, lecturers in
universities can implement the case method as an alternative strategy for training students'
CTS because this strategy significantly contributes to achieving students' CLO.
Keywords: case method, cognitive learning outcomes, critical thinking skills.
