RELASI BAIK, KERJA MENJADI ASYIK: STUDI KUALITAS INTERAKSI ATASAN BAWAHAN TERHADAP EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT GENERASI Y
Abstract
Generasi Y memiliki kecenderungan untuk berpindah-pindah pekerjaan. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan mengkondisikan karyawan level manajerial untuk dapat menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan yang sesuai dengan karakteristik staf generasi Y. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana peran kualitas interaksi atasan-bawahan terhadap employee engagement pada karyawan generasi Y. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 144 orang karyawan generasi Y yang berusia 23-37 tahun di wilayah DKI Jakarta, yang direkrut dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner Leader-Member Exchange Multidimensionality Measure (LMX-MDM) dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) yang sudah diadaptasikan ke konteks Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil uji regresi, didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat peran signifikan dari kualitas interaksi atasan-bawahan memiliki terhadap employee engagement dengan nilai R2= 0.199. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peran dari kualitas interaksi atasan-bawahan memiliki terhadap employee engagement generasi Y sebesar 19,9% dan 80,1% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.
