A Systemic Literature Review of Project Based Learning to Strengthen Collaboration in Elementary School

Abstract


21st century education demands that students have 4C skills, including collaboration. However, these skills are often low. This study aims to show the role of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model in strengthening the collaboration skills of elementary school students. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) for journals relevant to PjBL and collaboration. This study reviewed 12 national journal articles published between 2020- 2024. The result of the study showed that PjBL positively affected the improvement of students’ collaboration skills through group work, discussions, and exchange of ideas. Although challenges such as passive students are encountered, the implementation pf PjBL is gradually able to increase the active participation and responsibility of team members. The role of teachers is facilitating PjBL is also crucial in increasing student interest and learning outcomes. It is concluced that PjBL is effective in improving collaboration skills and has the potential to improve the quality of learning.
