HUBUNGAN ANTARA PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS DAN PROBLEMATIC INTERNET USE PADA MAHASISWA
Abstract
Dalam pekembangan usianya, mahasiswa rentan untuk menjadi stress, depresi dan cemas. Ketidakpuasan dan masalah di dunia nyata membuat mahasiswa melepaskan masalah dengan bermain internet yang berlebihan sehingga mengganggu kehidupan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan psychological stress terhadap problematic internet use pada mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif non eksperimental. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 165 mahasiswa dengan rentang usia 16-25 tahun di Universitas X. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21-(DASS-21) dan Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale-2 (GPIUS-2). Hasil diperoleh adanya hubungan positif antara psychological distress terhadap problematic internet use. Analisa deskriptif diperoleh aspek kecemasan banyak dialami mahasiwa dengan kategori sedang hingga sangat berat. Komponen tertinggi dari problematic internet use pada mahasiswa adalah mood regulation. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan psychological distress dapat menjadi faktor resiko problematic internet use.
