Pemanfaataan Aplikasi LMS Untuk Mendorong Keterlibatan Orang Tua dalam Pendidikan Siswa
Abstract
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the aspects of parental involvement in children's education so that schools and education stakeholders can foster relationships and build effective alternative communication media with parents. Parental involvement is considered one of the most important determinants of student academic achievement. This study used a quantitative approach with survey methods. The data is analyzed descriptively, utilizing the measure of data centering, namely mean and median. Parental involvement is measured through 9 components of the Parental Involvement Rating Scale (PIRS). Each component consists of 3 indicator questions with a scale of 0 (Disagree) to 2 (Agree) answer ranges. A total of 202 parent respondents, with at least 1 school-age child, participated randomly in the study. Overall, the greatest involvement of parents in children's education is manifested in the form of parental attention, guidance, and motivation, while the lowest form of involvement in terms of decision making (Parental Decision Making). Analysis of the largest engagement component by considering 3 demographic aspects of respondents, namely: LMS users or not, children's age group, and parents' combined income per month, also did not show a significant difference.
