Kepemimpinan Transformasional Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Prestasi Ekstrakurikuler Marching Band di MAN 2 Tulungagung

Abstract


The transformational leadership of school principals plays an important role in improving the
quality of education, including extracurricular achievements. This study aims to examine the
characteristics and involvement of school principals in the implementation of
transformational leadership to improve the extracurricular achievement of marching bands
in MAN 2 Tulungagung. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach
with a case study type. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory
observations and documentation studies related to the principal's leadership activities
towards the extracurricular marching band. The results of the study show that the
transformational leadership of school principals plays a significant role in creating an
environment that supports the development of extracurricular achievements of marching
bands. The principal facilitates the development of members' abilities through providing
motivation, inspiration and appreciation in the form of rewards, as well as making policies
that support the sustainability of the marching band's extracurricular achievements . This
research makes an important contribution to leadership development in schools, especially
in the management of marching band extracurricular activities that can improve the quality
of education as a whole.
