Integrasi Warisan Craftsmanship Rotan Lokal dengan Teknologi dalam Desain Interior Berkelanjutan

Abstract

Indonesian rattan craftsmanship, with its rich cultural heritage and passed-down techniques, offers immense potential in interior design. However, integrating this traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to achieve sustainable and globally competitive interior designs poses a challenge. This research explores the integration of local rattan craftsmanship heritage with technology, focusing on a case study of PT Sky Line Jaya, an export-oriented wood manufacturer that utilizes advanced technology to enhance production efficiency. The research findings indicate that the application of Value Engineering principles, CAD/CAM technology utilization, Just-in-Time (JIT) production, visual management, and 5S Methodology can be adapted and implemented in the Indonesian rattan industry to improve efficiency, quality, and competitiveness.
