AESTHETIC ANALYSIS OF ACHMAD FARID'S BUDDHISM PIXEL COLLAGE PAINTING
Abstract
The purpose for conducting the research is that the author hopes to provide useful information for readers and can inspire readers to create art. The analysis of Achmad Farid’s pixel collage work is intended to show the author’s appreciation of Achmad Farid’s work. This art assessment is conducted to find out the artistic values of Acmad Farid’s Buddhist pixel collage works. The method used in this research is qualitative research method. This method was chosen because the research conducted provides descriptive data. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interview, documentation, and triangulation. The result of this study explain the aesthetics of pixel collage painting with Buddhism theme. The theme and technique are used as subject matter because Achmad Farid was inspired by a novel that discusses Buddhism. Instead of that, the theme and subject are used as subject matter because Achmad Farid was likes things related to Buddhism because it symbolizes peace, the influence of the surrounding environment, feeling more challenged when using the technique, and the media used are recycle items that easy to find. He was inspired to create works from Buddhism because the religion teaches about calmness and happiness and that's where the inspiration was created. The work with the theme "SIMEDI" is made from pieces of used cans that are painted and then arranged to form a picture of a Buddha figure. The next work with the title "Perlahan dan Tenang" is made with various media and tools, such as paper, paint, and other materials. The media and tools used in the two works may be slightly different, but the two works use the same technique.
