PERAN TEKNOLOGI DIGITAL DALAM PENGUATAN PENDIDIKAN EKONOMI YANG MENDUKUNG SDGS 4

Abstract

This study examines the role of digital technology in strengthening economics education as a strategy
to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 on quality, inclusive, and
equitable education. Digital transformation is considered essential because economics education is
required not only to deliver knowledge but also to foster economic literacy, critical thinking, and
decision-making skills relevant to the global context. The research method employed is a systematic
literature review of 38 national and international journal articles, which, after a rigorous selection
process, resulted in 10 relevant articles for analysis. Thematic synthesis was applied to highlight
four main issues: the role of digital technology in enhancing the learning process, its contribution to
economic literacy and 21st-century skills, implementation challenges such as infrastructure gaps
and teacher competencies, and its implications for achieving SDGs 4. The findingsreveal that digital
media functions not merely as a means of delivering content but as a strategic instrument to enhance
students’ motivation, engagement, and understanding through interactive learning. However, its
effectiveness is strongly influenced by teachers’ readiness, equitable access to facilities, and
supportive education policies. Thus, the integration of digital technology in economics education
should be regarded as a long-term investment to create an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable
education system.
