Abstract


Advances in digital technology in the 21st century have driven significant changes in education, including in the teaching of economics. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as an innovation capable of supporting and improving the efficiency of the learning process. However, the use of AI to improve students' economic literacy has not received much specific study. This study was conducted to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the economic literacy of tenth-grade students at Taruna Nala State Senior High School, East Java, specifically in the aspects of conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and economic decision-making. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were tenth-grade students who had experience using AI as a learning aid. The results showed that AI plays a significant role in helping students understand complex economics material, increasing learning efficiency, and accelerating access to information. However, the use of AI has not been fully accompanied by critical thinking skills and in-depth understanding. Therefore, the effectiveness of AI use depends heavily on digital literacy and active student involvement in the learning process.
