Indonesian Accounting Students Facing the Society 5.0

Abstract


Akibat perubahan zaman dan berkembangnya teknologi, para akuntan dituntut untuk mampu mengikuti tren tersebut. Oleh karena itu, kami tertarik untuk membahas lebih lanjut mengenai realisasi dari era Industry 4.0 menuju Society 5.0 (super smart society) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para mahasiswa akuntansi di era yang akan datang khususnya di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menyebarkan kuisioner, dan menggunakan purposive sampling dengan mengambil 20 mahasiswa/i S1 Akuntansi yang pernah mengikuti Tes Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris (TKBI) yang dilakukan oleh universitas. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa akuntansi belum berperan secara maksimal dalam mempersiapkan diri di era digital karena merasa belum paham dan mahir dalam penggunaan digital terbaru. Namun secara tidak sadar, mahasiswa sudah mulai beradaptasi atau berubah menjadi super smart society dengan mempraktekan penggunaan program digital melalui software MYOB dan mengasah soft skill melalui kegiatan-kegiatan kemahasiswaan.
