The Analysis of Class V Student's Ability in Understanding Moral Value of Short Story in SD Negeri 1 Karangduren-Malang
Abstract
Abstract: Short story outline is one type of literary work that is told in a concise manner that contains the moral message with the aim that the reader can understand and be able to apply it in the life. This research was conducted with the aims, to describe the ability of students to understand the moral value in short stories, and to describe the factors that influence the ability of students to understand the moral value in short stories. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research design. The data of this research was carried out using observation, test, interview, and questionnaire techniques. Based on the results of this study obtained two results. First, the average ability of students to appreciate the moral value is in the qualifications of underprivileged. Second, factors that affect students' ability to understand the moral value in short stories are the lack of facilities of learning resources, low awareness in cultivating reading in the family, and the absence of a collection of reading books at home. It is necessary to have an effort to increase learning to improve the ability of students to understand the moral value in short stories in Indonesian language learning.
